What is Tap?

Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by the use of metal plates attached to the dancer’s shoes to create rhythmic sounds and patterns. With its emphasis on percussive footwork, tap dancers create intricate rhythms and melodies through a combination of heel and toe taps, shuffles, flaps, and brushes.

What to Wear for Tap

Girls: Any color leotard or tight fitting tank/yoga top, tights or jazz pants, yoga pants or leggings, leather tap shoes.

Boys: Any solid color T-shirt (not loose) and dance pants or sweatpants (not loose), black leather tap shoes.

LONG HAIR MUST BE SECURELY TIED UP.
